This is usually a shortboard only zone. Not because of the wave itself, but because of the access to Playgrounds. Reached by climbing down the cliff face at the end point of San Tumas/St Thomas and working your way around the point, longboarders rarely bother.
Those who do make it as far as Playgrounds can enjoy a rocky reef break reserved for experienced surfers. Waves are unimpeded by sand or other land mass, so you’ll get a short but powerful ride and, while it starts working when swell is less than 3ft, it holds upwards of 12 foot.
